"Couture After Dark." That is the dress code the Condado Vanderbilt has set for its Halloween night at VC Lounge on Friday, October 30. A day later and a short walk down Ashford Avenue, La Concha asks for "Twisted Elegance."
Those two lines show how Condado's fall calendar is built. Between mid-October and Thanksgiving, nearly every dated event in the neighborhood takes place inside a hotel restaurant, lounge or pool deck. The hotels publish their calendars weeks ahead, so most of the season can be planned now with a reservation. Only a few events are free and open to anyone: two Sunday afternoons of jazz at Plaza Ventana al Mar and a stretch of lagoon that the Lola Challenge runners cross before sunrise.
What follows is the season in order, starting with the event already underway.
STK San Juan, the steakhouse at the Condado Vanderbilt, turns seven this month and is spreading the celebration across a full week. El Nuevo Día reported on October 3 that daily specials begin Sunday, October 11, starting with an anniversary menu available all week. The menu is built around sevens:
The week closes on Saturday, October 17, with "Seven of Fortune: The Grand Finale," which runs from 4 p.m. to midnight with live DJs, anniversary cocktails and entertainment. If you want the most for the least, go early. A "Lucky Bites" menu runs during happy hour, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. STK also serves a daily three-course prix fixe "Steak Night" from 4 to 6 p.m. that has nothing to do with the anniversary. El Nuevo Día notes that the restaurant recommends booking through its STK Anniversary page on OpenTable.
Eight days later, the calendar moves outdoors. Platea's October listings show "Ventana al Jazz — Condado" at Plaza Ventana al Mar on Sunday, October 25, at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free. No reservation, no dress code and no prix fixe. In a fall made up mostly of hotel events, it is one of the few dates on this calendar that takes place on public ground facing the ocean.
The date matters for planning. October 25 is the last Sunday before Halloween weekend, so it falls between the steakhouse week and the costume nights. It is the one afternoon this month when the neighborhood's social calendar is free for anyone walking along Ashford.
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and three Condado properties have each claimed part of the weekend. Laid out together, the schedules overlap very little:
| When | Where | Event | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thu, Oct 29, 6–9 p.m. | Levant by Chef Michael White, La Concha | A Sparkling Evening | Prix fixe dinner with Billecart-Salmon Champagne pairing, $450++ per person |
| Fri, Oct 30, from 8:30 p.m. | VC Lounge, Condado Vanderbilt | The Velvet Society | Live DJ, entertainment, special cocktails; dress code "Couture After Dark" |
| Sat, Oct 31, 11:30 a.m.–4 p.m. | SOCIAL, Condado Ocean Club | Calaveras, Cocktails & Brunch | Also Sunday, Nov 1 |
| Sat, Oct 31, 1–5 p.m. | Solera pool, La Concha | Solera Endless Summer | Hugo Spritz Bar and live DJ |
| Halloween, from 4 p.m. | STK San Juan, Condado Vanderbilt | Deadly Delicious | Black Widow theme, live DJ, regular menu also available |
| Sat, Oct 31, 8–11:45 p.m. | La Concha | ALTER-EGO | Featuring Triumvirato; dress code "Twisted Elegance" |
Read in order, the table works as a full weekend. Friday night belongs to the Vanderbilt. Saturday can start with brunch at SOCIAL, which Condado Ocean Club describes as open to hotel guests, tourists and locals. The afternoon can continue at La Concha's pool, and the night can end at ALTER-EGO back at La Concha. The SOCIAL brunch menu sticks to the theme without costume demands: chilaquiles for $19, a huevos rancheros Benedict for $21, a chipotle shrimp salad for $23 and pumpkin cheesecake for $16. Its general dress code is resort casual.
The Vanderbilt's page lists STK's "Deadly Delicious" only as "This Halloween," starting at 4 p.m., without a printed date. If you're planning around it, confirm the night with the restaurant. Solera Endless Summer comes back on November 28, since La Concha holds it on the last Saturday of each month.
The first weekend of November brings the one large event that doesn't happen behind a hotel door. It also barely enters Condado. Lola Challenge Weekend, organized by the nonprofit Run Like a Lola, Inc., holds a 5K on Friday, November 6, a 10K on Saturday, November 7, and a half marathon on Sunday, November 8. Start times are 4:30 a.m. for the 5K and 10K and 4 a.m. for the 21K.
The race site lists new route maps for 2026, and the written directions show how Condado fits in. The 5K stays in Old San Juan and finishes at El Escambrón. The 10K follows Baldorioty de Castro toward the Condado Lagoon, runs about 20 meters onto the Dos Hermanos Bridge, and turns back toward Escambrón. The 21K comes down Baldorioty toward the lagoon, crosses the full length of the Dos Hermanos Bridge, makes a U-turn, and heads back to the finish.
None of the 2026 directions mention Ashford Avenue. That is a change from last year. Metro PR's October 2025 preview described that edition's 10K running from the Dos Hermanos Bridge through Condado and along Ashford toward El Morro. This year, the neighborhood sees the race mainly at the bridge and along the lagoon edge on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The organizers note that routes can change on race day.
For anyone running, packet pickup and the Lola Health & Fitness Expo are at Plaza Las Américas, in the former Sears space on the first floor, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on November 4 and 5. El Vocero reports that this year's edition is dedicated to Hospital Oncológico de Puerto Rico, which will receive a large share of the proceeds.
By late November, the hotel calendars all focus on Thursday, November 26. Four Condado dining rooms have posted Thanksgiving hours, and they are staggered enough to plan the day around:
The windows explain the order. A household that wants a midday meal has AQA and 1919. A family arriving on an afternoon flight can still sit down at Levant. Serafina covers everything in between, from noon until 10 p.m.
The calendar ends with a repeat. Platea lists another free "Ventana al Jazz — Condado" at Plaza Ventana al Mar on Sunday, November 29, at 4:30 p.m., three days after Thanksgiving. October 25 and November 29 are both the last Sunday of their month. Neither listing presents the shows as a holiday event, and neither says whether the dates belong to a recurring series, so check Platea's calendar before assuming December follows the same pattern.
Hotel calendars change after they're posted. Before you build a weekend around any of these, check the Condado Vanderbilt's happenings page, La Concha's event calendar and the Lola Challenge participant page.
